My paintings depict scenarios of daily life in a post-damaged landscape, using simplistic technologies to interact with the elements. The paintings also grapple with the relevance of the modern landscape. Using oil, acrylic, egg tempera, sometimes mixed media, and experimental techniques as well, I create works that flow freely between authenticity and visionary futurism, fetishized forms and flatness, the Romantic sublime and post-apocalypse, invention and destruction.

But also, encoded within each work is a bit of hope, in the form of a safe place to stop and reflect. In several paintings you might see what I have called a pop-up farm. These are tents for shelter, that also capture rainwater, and cultivate plants around their periphery. They are a bit of safety, hope, and ingenuity.

My paintings often depict sculptural structures that may be built someday, as over time, my practice swings back and forth between 2d and 3d works. It's a positive-feedback loop, and blurs the boundary between our real space, and the illusory world of the paintings.
